Breaking news from the front lines. We are getting reports that Team Snail has sustained massive casualties due to an air raid earlier this morning. Witnesses say colossal birds dropped bombs with deadly accuracy rendering Snail tanks and troops ineffective.

Time in the Garden

What better to do with time on your hands then spend it in your garden?

My brother and I used to spend hours playing army guys without a care in the world. Thought I'd pull out my army men today. :)My team won. FYI.

The Soul

I was thinking today... I wonder what my soul looks like? I hope it looks something like this.

Whoa. What is that?

Look what I found while gardening! It was so much larger than the bees I thought "Whoa. What is that!" This thing was intelligent. It totally weirded me out. Honestly, it didn't like me following it with my camera. It kept taking passes at my head. It scared the H-E- double hockey sticks out of me. I couldn't get too close because it seemed to be aware of me, unlike the cute little bees that amble about my flowers all day long.

I googled it and its definitely a wasp. Golly. I don't really see wasps around here. I knew that if I made it too mad I would probably tear off screaming while he flew after me, so I figured I'd just be content with the so-so pictures I got, and save myself the drama.

Slow Down Therapy {10}

"Create a place in your home. . . at your work. . . in your heart. . . where you can go for quiet and recollection. You deserve it."

This is my Grandma Virginia's garden.
Oh the magical things that a child discovers in Grandma's garden.
Even a child that's 28 years old.

Heaven on Earth

I love when God drives earth through the carwash. It makes everything so clean and crisp. After a good stretch of cloudy skies suddenly the haze cleared and the rain was no more. Ahhh what a freshness there was over the earth today. I spent hours cooped up with the heater blasting and my kitties tucked up against me this past week. But alas the rain and hail receded and the sun's love glistened and shimmered across the hills once again. So, I decided to get out and get in it. I love the smell of the land after a good shower and the softness of the grass that emerges beneath my feet. I like the feel of cold drops of water beneath my toes. :)

If you look very closely at a blade of grass as it cradles a drop of water, you can enter an entirely new world. A world of peace and calm. There is a presence in that place that is unlike anything in all the world. It is the very presence of God. He is alive and living. He is interactive, and for me at least, I seem to find Him in the simplest of things.
